What are the seasonal variations and year-round climate conditions at Peninsula Papagayo?
The sunny dry season generally last slightly longer than it does in the rest of Costa Rica.The season typically extends from November through April. The green season brings sunny skies in the morning with almost daily afternoon showers from May through October. Both seasons offer a special charm. The dry seasons provides almost constant sun for outdoor activities; while the green season converts the Peninsula to a lush vibrant woodlands. The climate is tropical of 83 degrees F year round.
What type of native animals, trees and vegetations inhabit Peninsula Papagayo?
Peninsula Papagayo is a Dry Tropical Forest area. the vegetation and animal life are not as dense as that of the rainforest areas, and have a unique beauty of their own. Flowering trees populate the area. The National tree of Costa Rica, the magnificent Guanacaste, gives the province its name and can be seen here in all its glory.
Commonly observed animals, include monkeys, iguanas, sea turtles, armadillos, coatis, squirrels, raccoons, deer, anteaters, peccaries and opossums. Myriad species of birds and butterflies populate the trees and skies of the peninsula.
